J-Pole updates from other hams!

So: who knew a J-Pole antenna would bring hams together? =)

While hanging out on the SARNet repeater system, I met Jay (KN4GYL) who is also a relatively new ham. After showing him this blog, he decided to make his own dual-band copper J-Pole, which he mounted to the roof of his QTH. He also shared a few pictures of how he mounted it to the roof:

Pretty awesome, if you ask me! Jay (KN4GYL) said he will be adding lightning arresting/suppression soon, and will share the pictures of that deployment as well!

04-11-2018: Got an update on my original post from Barrett, W0ASB. He made one of the J-Poles, but instead of soldering the SO-239 connector, he cut slots into the tee-fitting and used a hose clamp to secure it in place. Pictures are located on his instagram account. Great Job, Barrett!
